Feldenkrais Method®
“….make the impossible possible, the possible easy, and the easy elegant.”
--Moshe Feldenkrais
About Moshe Feldenkrais, D.Sc. (1904-1984)...
Dr. Feldenkrais was an engineer, physicist, and martial arts expert. Drawing on his extensive knowledge of these fields as well as linguistics, biology, perinatal development and athletics, Dr. Feldenkrais avoided surgery and taught himself to walk without pain after a severe knee injury. This event was the catalyst for the development of the Feldenkrais Method. “What I’m after isn’t flexible bodies but flexible brains. What I’m after is to restore each person to their human dignity.”

A Student’s Diary following Feldenkrais ATM & Movement Intelligence Classes taught by Denise Deig
Wendy Meredith, a retired Pharmacist, shared the diary she kept throughout her time in Feldenkrais ATM and Movement Intelligence classes. She notes the skills she learns and the changes and benefits she
experiences in the classes. April 18thI have been asking for a path to healing and function for years. I found you accidentally on the Internet while trying to help a young friend with a very stiff neck. I am a pharmacist, and she wanted me to recommend a pill....which was not the answer. I found a simple Feldenkrais movement and sent it to her. It worked. I tried it too and found it helpful. That is where the walk to you began. I needed to learn more about this method.
I am starting to feel revitalized as I think about and try the small, contrary challenges of these new ways to develop capacities. I have found that healing is not going back to anything like it was before, but instead is the establishment of a new normal which can be wonderful. Confident in the hope of benefiting from this new normal, I am striving to maintain a great attitude, and I am willing to work at being as improved as possible. Thank you for what you do. |
